Freewebs - Silver Spring, MD

Freewebs is a free web hosting site that lets users easily and quickly design a homepage. The site was founded by three brothers in 2001, but just took their first round of funding late last year. I had a chance to grab lunch with some Freewebs guys at SXSW, and one of them told me that when he first heard of the idea, he didn’t think it could ever become a viable business. But 12 million users later, well, they are obviously on to something.
