Startup Concentration Outside of Silicon Valley
By Rob | April 4, 2007
In response to an email question about the number of startups outside the valley, I found this interesting graph at OReilly Radar. In order to equal the startup power of silicon valley (from a hiring perspective, since this is based on jobs), you would have to combine the ratings of the next 6 or 7 largest startup hubs: Boston, Seattle, NYC, DC, San Diego, Austin. By revenue or number of companies, the answer may be slightly different.

Very interesting. I would wager that that graph is only taken from known startups because very few places actually cover them. I can name 5 or 6 in Erie that are growing and will be looking for help in a couple months.
