GoChongo - Promote Yourself On a Spanish Monkey Slang Site
By Rob | May 3, 2007
When I used to live in Florida, one of the funniest things to watch was all the old men who wore separate articles of clothing that were two different shades of the same color. I think my favorite was dark yellow pants with a light yellow shirt. My wife said those men must have been engineers when they were younger.
I was taken back to those Florida days last night when I checked out GoChongo to review for this site. The Seattle based startup is a place for producers to create projects and solicit performers to contribute, but what really stands out about the site is the site design consisting of 3 different shades of green. This company isn’t web 2.0, they are web 0.2 retro.
Design critiques aside, GoChongo is a decent idea. The most interesting project posted so far is probably the virginity interview. I notice that no one has submitted anything to the collaboration space for that project yet.
The site has a nice interface to surf user projects, including video, music, literature, and imagery. While the idea isn’t something that interests me personally, I think they will find an audience with the right marketing.
We don’t have enough info to score this startup, but they are based in Seattle, and don’t appear to be using any proprietary technology. My guess is that they are a 6 or 7.
And if you are wondering what the site has to do with “spanish monkey slang,” check out the Gochongo about page.
