MacMeter - Voting on What’s Hot in the Apple/Mac Community
By Rob | May 9, 2007
Louisville entrepreneur Ben Thomas recently launched MacMeter, his third entry into the web startup world. MacMeter is a niche social voting site where users submit and rank stories about Apple and/or Macs. Ben considers the site to be like Digg, without all the noise.
My reason for creating this site was definitely not to compete with Digg. If Digg is Walmart, Macmeter is that little hardware store on the corner. Digg will always have more users, more content, more comments, etc. To me, it doesn’t matter. Macmeter was created to be a small community, without all of the excess noise.
Ben also notes that “building web apps is addictive.”
So if you are into Macs, check out the site. If you are really into Macs, contribute something to it as well.
